Alcatraz Lighthouse

The original Alcatraz Lighthouse, San Francisco Bay, California, was the first lighthouse on the Pacific coast.  It was torn down in 1909 to make way for the construction of a prison.  A new 84 foot tower of concrete was built next to the cell house and was lit on December 1, 1909.
